12th century Greek New Testament
The Monastery of Vatopedi on Mount Athos houses a 12th century Greek New Testament manuscript. This facsimile was printed utilizing modern Greek type text, in order to show some of the beautiful hand-painted Byzantine Greek Orthodox designs from the original manuscript.Text is in Greek (Byzantine) with a parallel text in modern Greek alongside. Each Gospel starts with a large coloured illumination of each of the Evangelists including many small illuminations and ornate geographic boarders throughout. The cover has a replicated antique look of the original manuscript which is kept at the monastery.
